Yes. To receive instant emergency alerts and view your live location on the map, your trusted contacts must have the SafeOn app installed on their device. Once installed, they join your peer safety circle, enabling instant high-priority push alerts, automatic readiness checks, and secure interactive route tracking.

SafeOn features an automatic 5-minute pre-escalation grace period. When your walk countdown concludes, your phone gives you an audible and haptic warning notification. You have a full 5 minutes to simply tap the “I’ve Arrived” button to safely complete your walk before any alert is dispatched to your trusted contacts.

No. In accordance with strict European GDPR privacy standards, SafeOn never tracks or stores your location during normal daily life. GPS coordinates are only transmitted and securely stored on our EU servers when you explicitly arm a Walk Timer or activate an SOS alert. All location trails are automatically and permanently purged after 30 days, while medical emergency snapshots are erased after 72 hours.
